OUR FABRICS
Our outer fabric is made from a blend of 52% linen and 48% TENCEL™ Lyocell.
Linen is breathable, strong and naturally textured. It’s a beautiful fibre, but it can crease heavily and feel rigid if left on its own.
TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers are derived from the natural raw material wood and made from a resource-saving, closed loop production process.* The fibers are naturally soft and smooth to the touch and certified as biodegradable and compostable.**
Blended together, linen keeps the fabric breathable and grounded, while Lyocell softens the drape and reduces excessive creasing.
THE PROCESS
TENCEL™ Lyocell is known for its innovative closed loop production process. Wood pulp is transformed into cellulosic fibers, while more than 99.8% of the solvent are recovered and fed back into the loop, resulting in close-to-zero wastage.
THE PRODUCTION
Each of our jackets are produced at a family-run manufacturer based in London.
CERTIFICATIONS
FSC
(Forest Stewardship Council). The FSC-certificate provides security and documentation that ensures the forest is managed in a responsible manner. This includes practices such as protecting biodiversity, maintaining the long-term health and productivity of the forest and respecting the rights of forest workers. The FSC certificate ensures traceability of products all the way from the forests to the point of sale.
PEFC
(Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification). The PEFC certificate provides assurance that forest-based materials are sourced from responsibly managed forests. This includes protecting biodiversity, maintaining the health and productivity of the forest ecosystem, and upholding the rights and well-being of workers and local communities. The PEFC certification also ensures full traceability of materials from the forest through the entire supply chain.
*Savings consider solvent recovery.
**LENZING™ Lyocell and Modal standard fibers are certified by TÜV AUSTRIA as biodegradable in soil, freshwater and marine environments, and compostable under home and industrial conditions.
